Agency warns of soaring food prices

Food prices hit a record high last month, outstripping levels that prompted riots in some countries 2008, and key rains could climb even further as weather patterns give cause for concern, the UN's food agency said.

Its measure of global monthly price changes for a food basket of cereals, oilseeds, dairy, meat and sugar reached its highest since records began in 1990.
