Actress Whoopi Goldberg forced to quit show

Hollywood star Whoopi Goldberg has ended her run on stage hit Sister Act early after learning her mother had a stroke.

The actress has been a huge box office draw since joining the cast last month as Mother Superior in the West End version of her own hit movie. Goldberg, 54, flew home yesterday.
