Abuse activist in Capital talk

A LEADING American domestic abuse activist will address a conference in the Capital.

Dr Jackson Katz, author of The Macho Paradox: Why Some Men Hurt Women and How All Men Can Help, will be speaking about men's role in preventing domestic abuse at today's event organised by the Violence Reduction Unit.

Dr Katz is the co-founder of the Mentors in Violence Prevention programme, a large-scale effort which has enlisted high school, collegiate and professional athletes to help in the fight against men's violence towards women.
