Aberdeen hospital evacuated after boiler room fire

PATIENTS and staff at a private hospital in Aberdeen were evacuated as a precautionary measure this morning after a fire in the building.

Three fire crews from Grampian Fire and Rescue Service were called to the Albyn Hospital in the city’s Albyn Place after a “small fire” in the hospital’s boiler room.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said the fire had been extinguished within ten minutes. He added: “Patients and staff were evacuated as a precautionary measure and everyone has been accounted for.”
