A9 reopens 14 hours after fatal two-lorry crash

The A9 reopened last night, 14 hours after a fatal crash involving two lorries near Kingussie.

One male driver died after a horror accident, a mile north of Kingussie just after 6am. The A9 Perth to Inverness road was closed in both directions.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm that a man has died following a collision involving two heavy goods vehicles on the A9 at Kingussie at around 6.10am.

“A man was also taken to Raigmore Hospital with injuries that are understood not to be serious. No one else was injured.

“Enquiries into the collision will be carried out and there is no further information available at this time.”
