A kiss for a man in a million from the Lady Boys

THE Lady Boys of Bangkok, glamorous stars of the Fringe, celebrated selling their million ticket since making their debut at the festival 12 years ago - with a kiss for Charlie Low.

They flopped in their first appearance in a circus tent on the Meadows after being discovered in Thailand by promoter Philip Gandey, who created the show especially for the Fringe.

But after failing to return the following year, the Lady Boys became a huge hit at the 2000 Fringe and have gone on to be the biggest-selling act, as well as regularly touring venues throughout the UK and abroad.

The show has been an ever-present in Edinburgh for ten years, and three shows a day are now being held at the weekend to satisfy demand from audiences in the capital.
