A grand view of new stand

FIONA Hyslop takes in the view on a visit to the new £16 million amphitheatre at Edinburgh Castle.

The Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs joined Brigadier David Allfrey, the new chief executive and producer of Edinburgh's Military Tattoo, yesterday as the new structure takes shape at the Esplanade.

She said: "The Tattoo is one of the highlights of the Festival's calendar.

"This new grandstand will further improve the experience for Tattoo audiences."
