9am Briefing: Woman treated by medics after blaze

A WOMAN has been treated for smoke inhalation after a kitchen fire in Dalkeith.

Fire broke out at the terraced house in Oak Crescent at around 5.30pm last night and was extinguished by 6.50pm.

An ambulance spokesman said: "Our crew treated one female for smoke inhalation, but she refused to travel to hospital."

His election 'manifesto' complains that the rights and status of performers has been "eroded" with the Festival now dominated by financial concerns.
