9am Briefing: Guest curators to choose Film Festival line-up

GUEST curators including Actress Isabella Rossellini and rapper Mike Skinner will choose the "majority" of the line-up for this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival, organisers have revealed.

The bulk of events in the programme will be selected by 14 luminaries from the worlds of film, music and literature, eight of whom were revealed yesterday.

Fewer premieres will be screened at this year's festival as part of a cost-cutting move. The change comes in the wake of the festival losing funding after the scrapping of the UK Film Council and the loss of sponsorship from Standard Life.
