9am briefing: Eco-warriors plan day of protests

CLIMATE change activists claim they forced several Royal Bank of Scotland branches in the city centre to close at the weekend after they came under attack from protesters.

Several groups who are part of the The Camp for Climate Action protest descended on the RBS branches with weapons including superglue and stink bombs to cause disruption ahead of today's planned "day of action".

Sex attack investigation

POLICE want to speak to two men who may have seen a sex attack victim shortly before she was assaulted.

The 31-year-old woman was knocked unconscious during the attack in Stockbridge, which happened as she walked home between 9pm and 11pm on Friday.The woman, who raised the alarm after she regained consciousness, last remembers walking along Saunders Street at around 9pm on Friday.

She was later found by family members on the path under McKenzie Bridge but has no idea how she got there.

Kebab fire

A BLAZE has ripped through a kebab shop in Dalry following a fire in a deep fat fryer.

Fire crews were called to the Derya takeaway in Dalry Road just after 5pm yesterday evening.

Despite the scale of the fire, no-one was hurt or had to be evacuated, though neighbouring shops were affected by the flames and smoke.

Connery nearly missed out on 007 role
