99-year-old dies after fall into river
It is thought that Thomas Thomson may have slipped during his stroll. However, a post-mortem examination was last night due to be carried out to discover whether a medical condition might have caused his death.
A member of the public heard a splash at about 4:15pm on Monday and saw the body of Mr Thomson in the River Nith in Dumfries.
