75 people go bankrupt a day

SEVENTY-FIVE Scots are going bankrupt every day as the country sits on the edge of a double-dip recession.

Thousands of families have been left in financial ruin after running up debts on credit cards and other loans, according to figures from Scotland’s insolvency agency.

Meanwhile, soaring numbers of Scottish companies have shut their doors, with others scaling back investment plans and expansions. A record 24 companies a week went bust last year, raising fears of thousands of job losses in coming months, it was reported today.
