515 perverts live in Lothian

THE number of convicted sex offenders living in the Lothians reached 515 last month.

New figures, published by Lothian and Borders Police, showed 314 sex offenders were living in Edinburgh and 101 in West Lothian. A total of 100 sex offenders were living in Mid and East Lothian. Another 161 sex offenders from the force area were serving a prison sentence.

Police are also trying to trace three more sex offenders from the force area believed to be living abroad.
