5-star boost for tourism

Camera Obscura and World of Illusions has been granted five-star status by VisitScotland.

The attraction underwent a 1.2 million expansion less than a year ago, and since then has seen a 45 per cent revenue increase and enjoyed its busiest month in its 175-year history.

Director and manager Andrew Johnson said: "We were very excited about the renovation and we knew it would be well received, but nothing on this scale - the past 11 months have been truly overwhelming. The recent VisitScotland accolade is the cherry on the cake."
