40 new jobs as bargain store opens

FORTY new jobs have been created by bargain retailer Discount UK as it opens a new store today in Livingston.

The shop is situated within the Almondvale Retail Park, selling a range of products including household essentials, textiles, toiletries and groceries.

Chris Edwards Junior, trading director at Discount UK, said: “Livingston is a great town and we’re delighted to be opening here.

“Discount UK aims to offer the best possible value and so we hope it will prove a big hit with savvy shoppers in the town, who like the rest of the UK are seeking better deals and bigger savings to combat the rising cost of everyday living.

“We look forward to welcoming shoppers in Livingston and invite them to take advantage of the deep-cut offers available on everyday essentials such as toothpaste and toasters, as well as specialised products including seasonal decorations, fashion accessories and toys.”

Discount UK in Livingston is the company’s 23rd store to open in just 11 months. The company was founded in 2010.
