360,000 flee bad neighbours

MORE than 360,000 people have been forced to move home in the past year because of irritating neighbours, researchers say.

The number of people moving for that reason has increased by a third over the last two years, a study of 2,000 adults by Halifax Home Insurance shows.

Complaints include aggressive behaviour, loud noise and mess.

Martyn Foulds, senior claims manager at Halifax, said: "Having a good neighbour is one of the most rewarding things a homeowner can experience – not only will they keep an eye on your property when you're away, but they may also become a close friend."
