21-year-old dies after being hit by bus

A YOUNG man died after he was hit by a bus, yesterday.

The 21-year-old was struck on Fernhill Road in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire at around 1.35 on Saturday afternoon and died at the scene.

Strathclyde Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the incident and appealed for any witnesses to contact them.

Meanwhile two men in their twenties remain in a serious condition in hospital after their car was in collision with a van.

Strathclyde Police said the crash happened shortly after 7.30am on Friday, near the Hurlet Bar on Hurlet Road, Paisley.

The two men, both 24, were travelling in a Hyundai Coupe heading west towards Paisley.

Police said it appeared to have lost control and struck a stationary Vauxhall Movano, which was driven by a 60-year-old man.
