18-year-old charged with two assaults

A TEENAGER has been arrested and charged in connection with two separate alleged assaults.

The 18-year-old man was set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.

The incidents both happened in Queensferry Street on Sunday, 24 January. The first incident took place at 3:45am when a 21-year-old woman and her 19-year-old male friend were waiting for a taxi outside a Greggs bakery.

Earlier that night, a 24-year-old man was allegedly assaulted in the same area. The suspects spoke to the man before allegedly punching him in the face. He was taken to the ERI to be treated for a suspected fractured cheekbone and broken nose.
