16 cars seized from drinkers

POLICE have seized 16 vehicles from drink and drug drivers in Lothian and Borders since the powers were introduced in December 2009 to target drivers who are caught twice in five years.

The cars seized included a Landrover Freelander worth 5248, a Vauxhall Vectra at 132, a Vauxhall Astra at 320, a Volkswagen Polo worth 270, a Peugeot 306 at 620, a Renault Clio at 1112, a Citroen Synergie at 893, a Peugeot 306 at 143, a Vauxhall Omega at 395, a Peugeot 307 at 1265, a Fiat Stilo worth 707, and a Volkswagen Passat at 5982.
