14 vehicles hit by fire-raising

Deliberate fire-raising at a bus depot has destroyed 14 vehicles, including coaches, minibuses and camper vans.

The fire broke out at around 6am yesterday at the depot in Cliftonhall Road, at the Clifton Industrial Estate in Newbridge, near Edinburgh.

Lothian and Borders Fire Service said two cars, two vans, four minibuses, four coaches and two camper vans had been destroyed.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: “Although the cost of the damage is not yet known, it will be considerable, and we are appealing for any information that can help us trace those responsible for the fire.”
