New Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass arrives at Cormack Park after quarantine ends

New Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass has spent his first day at the club’s training base after his quarantine period ended.

Atlanta United coach Glass was named the successor to Derek McInnes on March 23 but due to him being based in the United States, he was required to isolate for at least ten days due to coronavirus regulations.

That resulted in the 42-year-old missing Aberdeen’s 1-0 triumphs over Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup and St Johnstone in the Premiership, with Paul Sheerin taking temporary charge.

However, the former Dons, Hibs, Watford and Newcastle midfielder is now free to meet the squad in person and take training, with pictures emerging yesterday showing him arriving at Cormack Park.

His first match in charge is Saturday evening’s Scottish Cup fourth-round tie against Livingston at Pittodrie, followed four days later by a home match against Celtic.

Glass is also expected to meet the media later this week for the first time since joining Aberdeen.
