The five star hotel, located close to the city centre will reopen on 15 July, following the latest guidance from the Scottish Government.
The announcement was made by their new hotel manager Gillian Mylles, who was appointed at the beginning of this year, after working at their sister property Kimpton Charlotte Square in Edinburgh.
Gillian said: “We are happy to announce we’ll be re-opening from mid-July and taking bookings from today for overnight stays in the hotel. We cannot wait to welcome guests back through our doors.
“Throughout our most challenging time yet, our commitment to true hospitality has never changed. We’ve been using this time when the hotel has been closed to review how we operate as a safe place to stay and still provide the experience of luxurious glamour and escapism that our guests enjoy.
“Above all, the safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff is our top priority; we have implemented new hygiene procedures above our standard protocols and enforced social distancing measures to keep people safe.
“In reception, our great Glasgow welcome won’t be any less warm as a result of our reduced contact check-in and touchless transactions. We’ve removed in-room collateral or other high touch items in the guest rooms and there will be additional deep cleaning of high touch services in every room of the hotel, as well as the provision of hand sanitiser among other safety measures.”
The hotel hopes to attract guests who are considering a staycation or plan to journey across Scotland this year, welcoming pets to the hotel alongside their owners.
The team are also offering packages for local customers from EH and G postcodes who book to stay at the Kimpton Blythswood Square and Kimpton Charlotte Square in Edinburgh.
In addition to overnight stays, the Kimpton Blythswood Square are taking a post-lockdown approach to luxury experiences. Guests are invited to book time in their screening room for a VIP socially-distanced cinema experience, including the choice of film, sporting event or top console game.
For now, the hotel restaurant Bo and Birdy will not reopen and the hotel awaits further guidance from the Scottish Government on when they will be able to welcome guests back to their popular Spa at Blythswood Square.
Kimpton Blythswood Square will continue to work with public health authorities on the phased exit from lockdown.
Prices for an overnight in a Superior room start at £175 including tax. The Scottish City Hop package starts on Monday July 29, offering 15 per cent off overnight stays to local guests from the EH or G postcode , when you book to stay at either Kimpton Blythswood Square or Kimpton Charlotte Square in Edinburgh.
