Now that the travel ban has been lifted, cyclists are finally able to leave their council area and will be looking to cycle further afield.
With this in mind, here are 11 of the best places in Scotland to get in the saddle.
9. Edinburgh
Edinburgh has a great network of dedicated traffic-free cycle paths, often following old railway lines. One of the most popular short routes takes riders the two miles from the city centre to the Shore in Leith. Photo: Canva
10. Isle of Arran
The Isle of Arran is a cycler's paradise, with perhaps the best ride being the 55 mile circular route following the scenic A841 road from Brodick. A warning though, there are quite a few tough climbs so this is not one for novices. Photo: Canva
11. Formartine and Buchan Way
The Formartine and Buchan Way long distance cycle path follows a former railway line, starting at Dyce Railway Station. Cyclists have a few options - a 23 mile ride to Maud can be extended by 15 miles to Fraserburgh or by 13 miles to Peterhead. Points of interest along the way include Aden Country Park, Drinnies Wood Observatory, Strichen Stone Circle and Deer Abbey. Photo: Canva
