Roobedo

Why go there?

Having cast off its image as the scratchy fabric for the hunting, shooting and fishing crowd, tweed has become a perennial fashion favourite. That's good news for Ruth Morris, owner and designer of Roobedo, as Harris Tweed is her fabric of choice for her range of clothing and accessories. Her newly opened shop and studio is a cute bothy situated in the picturesque hamlet of Moulin near Pitlochry.

Best known for?

Lovely tweed that's cut to flatter, made to last and designed to enhance a feminine silhouette. Their signature Slax are a firm favourite with customers; think wide-legged and form-skimming trousers that don't have a nasty muffin-top effect on your waistline. The new autumn/winter skirt range features creative designs including this A-line fringed number, inspired by sea anemones (pictured below). Everything is handmade and prices start at 5 for a purse and rise to around 200 for a skirt or a pair of trousers.
