Pictures: Hand-sculpted newspaper Scottie Dogs

THESE stunning sculptures of the loveable Scottie Dog have been meticulously crafted from around 7,000 individual pieces of newspaper.

The dogs’ bodies are made from a papier mache frame, and at around 12 inches long they are distinctly puppy-sized. Each has a unique character, with heads, ears and tails turned in a different direction.

The i newsletter cut through the noise

The dogs are named after Scottish islands, and crafted from papers such as The Scotsman and Guardian, with the colour added by scraps from the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe programme.
