My Perfect Weekend: Maureen Virtue

MAUREEN Virtue is running the Rock ‘n’ Roll Edinburgh Half Marathon on April 14 to raise money for the charity Get Kids Fit!

Who would be your ideal weekend companion and why?

Mo Farah, without a doubt. I would get him to pace me in a half marathon and get my first ever sub-two hours. He is just the most amazing guy and what a gorgeous smile. That would be fabulous.

Where would you take him in Edinburgh?

Edinburgh is just so gorgeous and crammed full of history – by day we would visit the Castle and by night we would go on the Auld Reekie Terror Tour.

Where would you go for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

Breakfast would have to be at Heller’s Kitchen for American pancakes and piping hot coffee. Lunch, a gorgeous salad from Hendersons and for dinner it just has to be a steak at the Granary at Leith – I absolutely love the funky atmosphere, leather sofas and the buzz.

What one item could you not be without?

It would have to be my Kathy Van Zeeland handbag. They are so funky and until I can afford the Christian Dior one I saw in Puerto Banus, it’ll have to stay.

How would your perfect weekend finish?

By being pampered at One Spa and a swim in the roof-top pool, and then being told I can do it all again the next weekend – bliss.
