That’s why we have relaunched The Scotsman’s Edinburgh Festivals Guide, in partnership with our events website WOW247, giving you all the listings and all the reviews in one place.

You will notice that things are a little different, so allow us to introduce you to some of the best features of the new site.

1. Read all the Scotsman reviews

The Scotsman covers a huge amount of shows during Festival season, from the freshest new theatre productions to the big-name comedians. You will find every review on Edinburgh-Festivals.com, along with those all-important star ratings.

2. Browse by festival

If you know you’re headed to Charlotte Square for the Book Festival, or if Fringe comedy is more your thing, just select that particular festival from the menu and delve into each individual festival page, with contextual listings and reviews.

3. Go mobile

If you are at the Edinburgh Festival, chances are you won’t be anywhere near a PC or laptop. Which is fine, because everything you get on the desktop version of the Edinburgh Festivals guide is also available on the mobile version, without the need to download an app.

4. Find listings with full info and maps

There’s nothing more important than getting the essential information first time, every time. So every show listing has dates, times, a description of the event, venue details, a map, prices and ticket booking links.

5. See what’s coming up with the Departure Board

Part of the Edinburgh Festival experience is going to a show on a whim, purely because it’s in the venue around the corner. With this in mind, we have created a Departure Board, listing the shows coming up in the next hour. Why not take a few risks?

6. Comment on any review or listing

No matter who you are, everyone gets the chance to have their say on this site. Been to a show and want to post your own review? Disagree with a review and want to add your response? Just register on the site and join the debate.

7. Get the inside scoop on the Blog

With so much going on, it’s easy to lose track of the news, gossip and announcements. In our Festival Blog we post snippets of easily digestible news, along with the best pictures, videos and anything else that just has to be shared.

8. Consult our comprehensive guides

If you’re not familiar with either the city or the programme of events, don’t miss our ongoing series of guides to the best shows, best restaurants, best bars and more.

9. Get the bigger picture on the carousel

We have an expanded carousel on the homepage and every festival page, allowing you to get an instant, visual feel for the hot shows, big interviews and latest videos on the site.
