The final blocks of new homes in an award-winning residential development in Coatbridge have been put on the market with a price tag cheaper than the cost of a private garage in Edinburgh’s West End.

Costing from £97,500 to £136,000, the 12 new apartments have one or two bedrooms and are aimed at first-time buyers and downsizers.

Some of the flats have en-suite bathrooms and a selection boast large balconies.

The properties are situated in the final phase of the £1.3 million Calderwood Village in North Lanarkshire, which was recently named the best residential development in Central Scotland at the UK Property Awards.

Livingston-based developer Dundas Estates is anticipating significant interest in the properties after the three other blocks of flats on the site sold out in a matter of weeks.

“This release represents the very last chance for buyers to acquire an apartment property at our award-winning development,” said on-site sales manager Gail Grant.

“We anticipate there to be great interest in these apartments following the success of the previous two blocks.

“Young potential buyers and those downsizing have shown interest in what are fantastic flats in an exciting development.”

She also highlighted some of the government support schemes available to help house-hunters realise their property dreams.

These include Help to Buy and the First Housing Fund.

Calderwood Village is conveniently located for commuting to Glasgow and the Central Belt, with a bus stop outside the development, Whifflet railway station less than a mile away and links to the M8, M73 and M74 motorways. Dundas Estates also plans to create a new cycle path from the development to Whifflet Park.
