Take a deep dive into the Scottish housing market in new Property Podcast

The first edition of our new Scotsman Property podcast is now available, made in partnership with DJ Alexander.

With the housing market hitting the front pages as interest rate rises bite, the podcast aims to take a deep dive behind the statistics and look at previous cycles of boom and bust to understand the current market.

In this edition Scotsman property editor Kirsty McLuckie is tackling some topical subjects - including recent changes in the rental market and she’s asking letting expert, David Alexander, whether current conditions are driving out amateur landlords - and what this means for tenants and first time buyers.

Next she’ll be getting to the bottom of what is really happening in the sales market, while predictions of falls in house values and a drop in activity in sales are UK-wide, is it a more optimistic picture North of the Border? She’ll be speaking to the CEO of property portal ESPC, Paul Hilton, to get a better understanding of different Scottish areas, and asking for his advice for those hoping to sell at the moment.
