The Schoolhouse at Niddrie Mill Road, Edinburgh, has just one apartment remaining for sale.

Barratt Homes has acquired part of the former Cornhill Hospital site from NHS Grampian to develop 245 new homes.

Work has already commenced on the Westburn Gardens development which will create family homes, apartments, affordable housing and accommodation for NHS staff.

Many of the properties will see granite from the original buildings retained in their design. The development is also set to offer a green space network connection to Westburn Park.

Demolition is under way at the site which has lain derelict for almost a decade.

The project has released capital for further health investment in NHS Grampian and has removed the financial burden created by the need to secure and repair the redundant site.

Edinburgh

The Schoolhouse development at Niddrie Mill Road, pictured above, has only one apartment remaining for sale.

The development is the conversion of a primary school and its surrounding playground, by CCG (Scotland).

With a total of 66 residential properties, it comprises 34 apartments for social and mid-market rent, a further 17 apartments in the former school building and 15 terraced homes for private sale.

The Schoolhouse forms part of the regeneration programme for Craigmillar, being delivered by PARC Craigmillar, that will see 2,000 new homes built in the area.
