New research has revealed that having a royal name included in your address can affect the price of your home.

There are almost 3,000 royal-related street names across the UK, and using Zoopla and Streetlist, mortgage advice website OnlineMortgageAdvisor.co.uk scanned through each road in the UK and its average house price to uncover which royals can help increase your home’s value.

In Scotland there are 193 ‘royal’ street names, and the research found that living at these addresses increases the value of a home by £11,104 in comparison to the average house price.

But beware, that could depend on which royal name your street has, with some proving much more valuable than others.

Although rare, road names that include Sophie (Countess of Wessex) are valued at over £200,000 more than the UK’s average, while streets that include Camilla (Duchess of Cornwall), Kate/Catherine (Duchess of Cambridge) and Elizabeth (the Queen), are also well above the average house value.

At the other end of the scale, roads with Charles (Prince of Wales), William (Duke of Cambridge), Edward (Earl of Wessex/Duke of Kent) or Phillip (Duke of Edinburgh) in their names, were all below the average UK property price.
