Good news if you love muted hues, as Debenham's autumn/winter collection has a lovely Nordic theme, which includes a pared back grey colour scheme complemented by Scandi-inspired furntiure and accessories.

Decadent Dreamscape

Inspired by warmer climates, one of House of Fraser's collection's is a mix of palm springs meets Club Tropicana and is titled dreamscape.

Think hot pink, feathers, peacock print and velvet - ideal for an exotic living room.

As described by Lois Vincent, the brand's home designer: "Escape the everyday and saturate your home with glorious jewel tones this autumn.

"There are so many ways to use them, in oriental, deco and bold floral prints – I love that it all feels a bit fantasy. You can up the glamour quota by mixing in a few gilded accessories, after all, who doesn’t need a flamingo candlestick in their life?”

Add some florals (and support a worthy cause)

Introduce a new scent to your home, while giving back.

Jo Malone has been teaming up with charities for years, and now supports nine, all of whom help to support those living with mental health problems.

The latest edition to their charity home candle collection (which includes Iris and Lady Moore and Peony and Moss, pictured) is the Lilac and Rhubarb scent, £47.

Add warmth to your home with the new season palette of autumnal tones from M&S Home.

Shades of blush pinks and dusted rose feel modern and fresh, and complement contemporary greys and mixed metallics.

Luxurious velvets in rich tones add a cosiness to your space, while statement florals and clean geometric prints are an easy update for your living area.

Top picks include the new-shape Newbury sofa in gosford velvet deep red, Sandford marble square nest of tables, printed cotton geo rug and the statement floral cushion.

Go global

George Home at Asda will be introducing a collection of bedding, cushions and accessories under a 'wanderer' theme.

These include cute copper cactus vases, elephant print cushions, and chevron and aztec-inspired printed bedlinen, all at affordable prices.

Pick a pattern

Continuing the global theme, designer Sian Elin has introduced a new range to her collection of cushions, lampshades and wallpapers.

Described as north meets south, the range is inspired by traditional South American folk art combined with Scandinavian modern designs of the 30s.

Richly decorated hand-drawn stylised flora, fauna, and birds merge with naive mark-making, and geometrics.

Folk patterns can also been seen in the bold designs, available in colours such as mustard, yellow, blues, and blush.

Choose colour

High street favourite, Next Home, has a range of block colour cushions and bedlinen, which go perfectly with their beech wood furniture such as this contemporary desk.

The accessories would work in a older kids' room, or for adding pops of colour in a neutral tones living room.

Rural accessories

Both George Home and Sainsbury's are set to launch rural themed tableware and accessories this autumn.

Prints range from dark autumnal florals to woodland animals such as rabbits, hares and foxes.
