William Wallace: man from myth

One of the greatest Scottish historical figures still has an element of legend surrounding him, centuries after his death. While the film Braveheart popularised many of those legends, Gary Stewart from the Society of William Wallace is here to set the record straight.

The film panders to the notion that Wallace did everything for love, when his wife was killed by an English Sheriff. When will humans land on Mars?

Professor Martin Lee is the head of the school of Geographical and Earth Sciences at the University of Glasgow, and has his own predictions as to when we will reach the red planet.

But there is a moral dilemma: is it okay for people to travel there, but never come back?

Why you should be standing at your desk

Many people feel like work is slowly killing them, but for office workers, this could be true.

Studies have shown that sitting down for prolonged periods of time, as is the norm in the office, can be liked to increased levels of cancer, heart disease, diabetes as well as chronic back and neck pain.

With workers spending 85 per cent of the day sitting down, this can cause big problems. A movement of people are trying to make the option of standing at your desk a legal requirement, as it is in Denmark.
