• THE general manager of The Scottish Café and Restaurant in the National Gallery of Scotland has been named ScotHot Young Scottish Restaurateur of the Year.

James Ross Mclean picked up the award at the recent ­hospitality event.

Soraya Gadelrab, ScotHot’s event manager, said James was a worthy victor.

As the winner, James will undertake a work placement with Martin Wishart, including hosting a lunch at Restaurant Martin Wishart as Maitre’D.
