Wiltshire Farm Foods, based in Crieff, says the current year offered more changes than any business could have anticipated, but with extra staff and drivers they are putting plans in place to continue safe deliveries over the coming months.

Douglas Sangster, logistics manager, said: “Inevitably this has been both adverse and favourable for businesses working within the UK food market. At Wiltshire Farm Foods we have probably faced the biggest challenges in the 30 years since the business was established.

“We may still have challenging times ahead with a possible resurgence of the current pandemic as the autumn and winter months kick in. However, we are planning to mitigate the risks and to maintain supply of our delicious meals for our customers by building up our stock levels.”

New recipes

The firm’s motto is “Great Food to be Proud Of”, which covers everything from variety, taste and nutritionally balanced meals, with an abundance of great customer service thrown in. They’ve listened to feedback from customers, introduced some new lines, and made improvements on some old favourites.

“Developing new products in line with seasonality is key, with a focus on ‘Winter Warmer’ comfort meals for Autumn Winter. To this end we have 30 exciting new product introductions in our Autumn Winter Brochure.

“We have also focused on improving and redeveloping some meals across the range. These changes are evidence based using customer and social media feedback. We really do listen to our customers and appreciate all their comments.”

At Wiltshire Farm Foods they know it’s the little things that make us happy, especially during this lockdown year … simple pleasures like a perfect roast or a delicious dessert make all the difference.

Their Christmas 2020 menu is already being worked on, and is packed full of enticing, indulgent treats.

Delivery times

As with many firms, the pandemic situation had an impact on delivery, especially with the unprecedented demand. But by buying more vans, employing more drivers and -organising the delivery runs, they are now able to offer a much broader choice of delivery days throughout their Scottish delivery area, allowing for more flexibility.

People centred

In these days of self-service checkouts and automated phone lines, it’s good to know that Wiltshire Farm Foods are here when needed, whether on the phone or at the point of delivery.

Douglas added: “Our friendly, local drivers are trained in no-contact delivery, making us a safe and effortless way to enjoy good food every day in the safety of your home. We continue to provide good old-fashioned service with a smile – just as it should be.”

Looking after the environment

At Wiltshire Farm Foods they are not just focused on making good food, but in being responsible for the world around us. There are no cardboard sleeves on any of their main meals and they are committed to working to improve and increase recycling, reducing single use plastic. The firm is gradually replacing black meal trays with new widely recyclable packaging – with the same delicious food inside.

Douglas continued: “We are proud of what we do and helping make a real difference to some of the most vulnerable in our society.”
