Whisky: Macallan release £3000 crystal decanter

THE MACALLAN have teamed up with a leading designer and one of the world’s top jewellers to produce a limited-edition luxury whisky in a bespoke crystal decanter.

Only 1,750 bottles of M will be produced, with each one individually numbered and hand-crafted. The striking bottle was designed by renowned fashion director Fabien Baron, with jewellers LALIQUE creating the bottles themselves. Each crystal decanter contains a 44.7% single malt.

Macallan’s David Cox hopes that the unique modern design of M can influence other whisky brands and set a new standard in presentation as well as taste.

Cox said: “The coming together of three masters has resulted in a truly beautiful creation, which specifically showcases the vital influence of The Macallan’s exceptional sherry seasoned oak casks and the craft of the Whisky Maker.”

Fabien Baron said: “I love the craftsmanship and purity of The Macallan. It’s rare to find that level of quality today.”

M is available at specialist whisky retailers, priced at £3000 a bottle.
