Set to open in December 2020, @pizza this week announced that they have secured the prime location after rocketing past the £1,000,000 investment mark in their ongoing crowdfunding campaign.
The new site is split over three floors and will be an addition to @pizza’s restaurant in Edinburgh’s West End. It will also be joined by a third site in the city when the St James Quarter opens in 2021.
@pizza has been crowdfunding to raise capital for expansion in Edinburgh and Birmingham. They will also be introducing the UK’s first drive-thru pizza units to both cities having surpassed their initial fundraising target in just 6 hours.
Investors can own a slice of @pizza for as little as £10 and every investor will earn lifetime rewards including free pizza on their birthday.
The crowdfunding round takes the form of an equity crowdfund through the Crowdcube platform. Investments will grow by 10% p. a. and will be repayable in 36 months. If a further funding round takes place within 36 months the investment will be convertible at a 25% discount to the prevailing share price being offered.
“We’re thrilled to have secured a site on the pedestrianised section of Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, the busiest street in Edinburgh” says Rupert Lyle, Co-Founder of @pizza. “Our fast-paced service and excellent quality is perfectly suited to the needs of consumers in this location. We’ll be offering convenience and flexibility to enjoy pizza exactly how you want it in this prime location.”
@pizza is building the first two of its clusters in Edinburgh and Birmingham, bringing fantastic pizza to every corner of the cities before expanding further around the UK.
