The Ivy Glasgow has given eager diners a first look inside its landmark new home at St Vincent Place, ahead of its first Scottish opening on Tuesday 20 October.
Breathing new life into one of Glasgow's most magnificent historic buildings, the ambitious transformation of the former Clydesdale Bank at 30–40 St Vincent Place will see two distinctive dining destinations brought together under one roof - The Ivy and The Ivy Asia, which is making its Scottish debut.

Paying tribute to the building's past, a historic clock from the former bank's original telling room has also been restored and rehung above the reception entrance. Originally made in Ayr in 1837, almost four decades before the St Vincent Place building itself, the clock revealed a fascinating discovery during restoration, when two folded papers were found concealed within its wooden base. Among them was a handwritten note reading "Made in Ayr for the Town Buildings", offering a rare glimpse into its origins nearly 190 years ago. Both the clock and the historic papers will be displayed in the newly transformed building. | contributed
