Kilchoman Distillery, located on the Isle of Islay, is expanding after growing demand for its range of whiskies.

The warehouse has been built only a few miles away from the main distillery and visitor centre.

Established in 2005, Kilchoman Distillery was the first to be built on Islay in 124 years.

Despite being a relative newcomer, a rise in orders for its highly prized whiskies, including its award-winning Machir Bay, Loch Gorm and 100% Islay ranges, have necessitated the construction of larger storage space in the space of just eight years.

Anthony Wills, managing director of Kilchoman, said: “The new warehouse opens up a number of opportunities for Kilchoman and to have reached this milestone earlier than we had anticipated is a great achievement for us.

“We built the warehouse to utilise the space we have at the distillery and we’re looking forward to being able to move Kilchoman into a new chapter of its history.”
