Edinburgh’s Bramble among world’s top 50 bars

A cocktail bar in Edinburgh has secured its place as one of the world’s best places to drink for the second year running.

Bramble in Edinburgh was ranked 32nd among a list of 50 bars as far-flung as Tokyo, Melbourne, New York and Singapore.

Watering holes from 16 countries were represented in the survey, with 17 new entries underscoring the competitive nature of the awards.

Located on the capital’s Queen Street, Bramble was the only Scottish entry on the list.

The Artesian in London came top of the survey, considered to be one of the most influential and respected poll of its kind. Seven other bars from London also made the list, with four London venues lodged in the top 10.

Returning for the fifth year, the poll is the result of an international industry survey produced by Drinks International, a leading magazine for the global drinks industry, who coordinate the final list based on nominations from an academy of over two hundred of the most renowned names in the drinks industry, including Dale DeGroff, Tony Conigliaro, Alex Kratena, Gaz Regan, Salvatore Calabrese and Jared Brown and Anistatia Miller.
