Edinburgh baked potato lovers queue overnight as viral sensation SpudBros open first Scottish store
The Lothian Road shop is the first SpudBros Express shop in Scotland
Fans of the viral food sensations SpudBros queued overnight in Edinburgh city centre as the baked potato chain prepared to open their first ever Scottish store.
SpudBros Express will open its doors on Lothian Road at 12pm today (July 15), with some fans waiting hours after it was announced that the first 100 customers would receive their baked tattie for free.
One customer, Ed Jaxon, 30, had travelled all the way from Fife to visit the store and even camped out overnight to claim his place in the queue.

Ed told the Evening News: “I’ve been here since 11 o’clock last night, just for something to do really.”
He added that he passed the time “scrolling on TikTok” and chatting to other customers in the queue.
The queue itself stretched down the length of Lothian Road.

SpudBros became social media phenomenon after videos of them taking baked potato orders at their pop-up hut went viral on TikTok.
Owned and operated by Preston brothers Jacob and Harley Nelson, SpudBros boasts more than five million followers on TikTok, as well as more than 230 million likes on their videos on the platform.
The Lothian Road branch will be their 12th ‘Express’ store across the UK and the first location to open in Scotland.

The company visited the city earlier this year, when huge queues formed outside their pop-up trailer at Potterrow.
A spokesperson from SpudBros Express said: “We are super excited to be opening in Edinburgh. It’s been on the bucket list for a long time and we are very excited it’s finally here.
“The brothers visited Scotland for the first time earlier this year and were blown away by the response.
“Edinburgh is the perfect city to start our Scottish adventure, and it’s been on our minds since we started the express journey two years ago. The city has everything, it’s got rich culture and history, we can’t think of anywhere else better.
“And Lothian Road felt like a great opportunity to be so central and next to so many food brands. It’s the perfect location, which has come up at the perfect time.”
