GLASSES are raised to toast a collaboration between two Edinburgh institutions.

The Caledonian Brewery has teamed up with Edinburgh Castle, with the latter lending its name to a new-recipe 80/- ale from the beer maker.

Stephen Duncan, left, from Historic Scotland – which operates the castle – met Andy Maddock, right, from the Caledonian Brewery, on the Esplanade yesterday to enjoy the new brew, which comes in Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink.
