Bruce Stevenson in high spirits at Speyside festival
Insurance broker Bruce Stevenson has been unveiled as the headline sponsor of a festival showcasing the best food and drink that Speyside can offer.
The inaugural Spirit of Speyside: Distilled event, which has evolved from the annual Spirit of Speyside whisky festival in May, will be held at Elgin Town Hall from 9 to 11 September, bringing together an array of whiskies, gins, beers and food under one roof.
Bruce Stevenson commercial director Andrew Adam said: “It’s the perfect platform for our brand, raising awareness with visitors, drinks companies and distilleries alike. The whisky sector is a specialist area, one which requires tailored protection when it comes to their properties and liabilities, such as distilleries.
“With our expertise and local knowledge as well as enhanced cover and underwriting flexibility, we are well placed to support the many businesses operating in this sector.”
The broker, founded in 1981 and led by chief executive Edward Bruce, has offices in Edinburgh, Galashiels, Glasgow and London. Its gross written premiums rose by 25 per cent to £25 million in the year to the end of August 2015.
Festival manager Pery Zakeri added: “Spirit of Speyside: Distilled is going to be one of the key highlights in Scotland’s events calendar, and a very exciting journey lies ahead in the weeks and years to come. We are therefore delighted to be able to raise a glass and welcome Bruce Stevenson Insurance Brokers – one of Scotland’s largest independent insurance brokers – on board as principle sponsor to support us on that journey.”
