BIG Dinner celebrates meals fit for an athlete

COMMONWEALTH Games Silver medalist and STV’s Sports Personality of the Year 2014, Lynsey Sharp, challenged students at George Watson College to cook a two course BIG dinner fit for an athlete – with a budget of only £7 per meal.

The top chefs from years 5 and 6 split into their House teams to take up the challenge, and as you can see in the video for the BIG dinner (www.BIGdinner.co.uk), they cooked up some delicious – and very healthy – meals.

Lynsey may be a winner on the track, but she found it very hard to choose a winner. As she says: “I am used to running and I find that easy - but judging other people’s talents is quite difficult.”

The joint winners made homemade pesto pasta with chicken and side salad followed by blueberry & lemon millefeuille and hot smoked salmon with chunky corn, mango & avocado salad followed by gluten free chicken & tomato pasta bake.

The BIG dinner team is delighted that Lysney Sharp and George Watson’s College are supporting our campaign. Why not follow their example and make a home-cooked meal for your friends in your kitchen - and at the same time help someone in Africa to be mobile.
