Sausage dogs and their owners are being invited to a series of special festive parties being held across Scotland.

'Party Like a Dachshund' promises "a specially created event that will see pups invited to meet Santa Paws and enjoy a photoshoot".

The parties are open to all dachshunds (and their owners) and includes an hour of off-lead play time in the indoor arena.

The sausage dogs can groove to Christmas songs while gorging on unlimited puppicinos and doggie treats.

While humans are allowed in for free, each dog must have an entry ticket.

'Party Like a Dachshund' also provides an opportunity for other dog owners to connect with others, while participating in games and fun activities.

Local pet businesses will also be showcasing their products, including treats and accessories in time for Christmas.

The event follows the previous success of 'Party Like A Cockapoo', but this time it combines the joy of Christmas with the magic of owning a sausage dog.

The dates and venues for the puppy parties are as follows:

  • Sunday, November 19, 11am-12noon: Nenthorn Equastrian Centre, near Kelso
  • Saturday, December 2, 11.30am-12.30pm: Hogholm Farm Stables, near Inverurie
  • Sunday, December 3, 11am-12noon: Pluscarden Village Hall, near Elgin
  • Sunday, December 3, 4.30pm-5.30pm: Chapelton Equestrian Centre, Muir of Ord, near Inverness
