Skoda: Man, ain’t that just one hell of a pram

NO, IT’S not April and you’re not a fool. It’s a pram, and we’re not kidding. Skoda have dubbed it the “vRS Mega Man-Pram” – a high performance vehicle that’s the last word in baby transportation. To celebrate the launch of the Octavia vRS – the fastest Skoda ever, lest we forget – the company gave a team of engineers the task of bringing the same qualities that go into the car to other
everyday objects.

Hence this utterly remarkable baby carriage. It stands two metres high – taller than most dads – and boasts wing mirrors, hydraulic suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels and a headlamp beam for night walks. Tots lucky enough to be carried on board can look forward to “sports-style upholstery” and “adjustable lumbar support”.

Heidi Cartledge, head of marketing at Škoda UK says: “The vRS Mega Man-Pram proves what you can do when you take the vRS vision off road and drive it straight into the nursery.

Sadly, or should that be thankfully, it is not available to buy, being a one-off produced simply for the new Octavia vRS TV ads. But we bet there’s a whole load of dads out there with a bad case of buggy envy.
