Experience Scotland, based in Penicuik, and 4x4 Hire (Scotland) whose centre is at Newbridge, got together to provide a weekend of Land Rover fun for 70 staff of a French insurance company and their family and friends.

Based at Cameron House on Loch Lomondside they enjoyed a weekend touring in the fleet of Range Rovers, Range Rover Sports, Discoverys and Defenders, taking in distillery visits (with a designated driver in each vehicle), angling and treasure hunts with targets such as collecting thistles and securing a photograph of a Scotsman in a kilt.

Managing director of Experience Scotland, Yves Lemarchand, who’s also the Consul of Belgium in Edinburgh, said it was one of the biggest projects he’s undertaken in more than 20 years of organising such events.

It was also a big challenge for Ewan Buchan, boss of 4x4 Hire, who has a fleet of more than 50 offroaders, but still had to borrow a couple of Range Rovers from family friends to meet the demand. “Everyone who was here had a great time,” said Ewan, “and we ended up with only a few scratches and minor bumps on the cars.”
