A guide to Totty Rocks, Nicola Sturgeon’s go-to fashion brand

SINCE First Minister Nicola Sturgeon stepped out in their crimson red dress, Edinburgh clothing boutique Totty Rocks have been inundated with business from people gushing over their unique designs. The duo behind the brand have dressed various famous faces, including Kate Moss, America Ferrera, Gok Wan and Lorraine Kelly.

We take a closer look at a fashion house on the rise.

WHO ARE THEY?

Holly Mitchell and Lynsey Blackburn, the two talented designers behind the Edinburgh based boutique, met at Boroughmuir High School and stayed in touch throughout their time at Edinburgh College of Art and living in London. After realising they both shared the same dream of working in Edinburgh, they began their own business in the form of Totty Rocks and have been making and selling garments to Scotland and beyond ever since.

WHERE CAN I FIND THEM?

Their boutique is based in the Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh, but they also have an extensive online shop you can find at www.tottyrocks.bigcartel.com. You can also get a real flavour for their designs from their Twitter feed (@TottyRocksLtd) which contains pictures of happy clients in their garments. Marie Macklan CBE and style columnist Camilla Long are a few to be singing Totty Rocks praises on social media.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Totty Rocks specialises in womenswear so you can expect a range of wardrobe staples like trousers, skirts, blouses and shirts in a variety of colours and fabrics. Piece are often bespoke and handmade. Tweed and tartan are recurring themes in their designs and are perfect if you’re looking for a statement jacket to brighten up any outfit. A typical Totty Rocks piece is brightly coloured and tailored to suit any body shape.

Prices vary depending from £95 depending on the garment. All products are designed and produced in Scotland making worth spending that little bit more money.
