T in the Park Memories: Here are 21 pictures of the performers and crowds at the much-missed music festival - including Oasis

TRNSMT may nearly be upon us, but music fans of a certain age remember its precursor with fondness.

This weekend will see some of the biggest names in music take to Glasgow Green for this year’s TRNSMT festival.

Over 120,000 music lovers are expected through the doors to see dozens of bands, including headliners Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon and Calvin Harris.

It was conceived as a replacement for the much-missed T in the Park, held annually from 1994 to 2016, first at Strathclyde Country Park, then the disused Balado Airfield near Kinross, and lastly at Strathallan Castle, where the 2017 event was ultimately cancelled due to problems the year before – wth TRNSMT taking its place.

The festival was a rite of passage for thousands who would turn up to camp for the full two (or later three) days of music.

And the line-ups were legendary, with the likes of Blur, Pulp, Oasis, and Radiohead just some of the highlights in the early years.

Here are 21 pictures to take you back.
