Woman, 61, dies in hospital plunge

A 61-YEAR-OLD patient has died after apparently falling 30ft from a window at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dumfermline at about 1am yesterday, police said.

The woman was treated in the hospital’s accident and emergency department but died at 3:30am. She was a patient in a general medical ward.

A Fife police spokesman said there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the procurator-fiscal.
